Scratch Part 1
- Scratch is a visual programming language that does not require users to type code. Instead, programmers build programs using pre-made colour blocks of code that represent instructions, and when joined together form scripts.
- Scratch was created by Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the Massachusetts institute of Technology. It was first launched in 2007.
- Instruction blocks snap together like jig saw pieces therefore users can't connect them in incorrect ways so errors are less likely to occur. If someone has trouble doing something they can check out the tutorials that are in scratch. Also scratch can be worked on offline if you download it so you can keep messing around on it.
- The latest scratch works on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Also it is also available on tablets.
- The hardware devices that scratch can interact with are Raspberry Pi, Microbit, Lego, and webcam.
- Scratch can be accessed online or offline, but you can only access it offline if you download it.
