The reason behind this action is because he wants Twitter to stick more closely to the principles of free speech, which Elon Musk states, " Free speech is the bedrock of functioning democracy, and Twitter is a digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated." In the recent weeks, Elon Musk has proposed Twitter content restrictions, such as the rules that suspended Donald Trump's account while ridding the platform of fake "spambot" accounts and shifting away advertising as its primary source of revenue. Elon Musk believes he can use subscriptions that give paying customers a better experience which will possibly increase their revenue. In conclusion, Elon Musk is buying Twitter not because he wants more money but instead to improve the state of Twitter and turn Twitter into a more enjoyable social platform. Elon Musk is a frequent user on Twitter so it is believed that any changes he decides to make will be thoughtful ones with reasoning behind them. Although, many people are opposed to the idea of Elon Musk buying Twitter but there are also a multitude of people who approve of this decision because they trust Elon Musk due to his past accomplishments.
